HISTORY:

Amako Construction Ltd., the flagship of Amako Group of Companies, was founded in Vancouver, British Colombia, in 1981 by Amir Etemadi.

In the late 1987 Amako began building resort properties constructing various buildings both commercial and multi-family residential suites in and around the Whistler and Blackcomb ski area. The company currently is among the largest general contractors in Canada approximately $200 million.

Amako expanded its resort division south in 1998 venturing into the United States market forming a US based company Amako Resort Construction continuing to build resort properties in both summer and winter resort areas. In 1999 Amako further expanded in the US forming a joint venture company, UPA with Salt Lake based Union Point Construction. Currently Amako Group of Companies has an office in Vancouver, British Colombia and US offices in Denver, Colorado; Reno, Nevada; Las Vegas, Nevada and Salt Lake City, Utah.

The company's foundation is rooted in both high and mid-rise commercial and multi-family residential projects throughout the US and Canada.

The backbone of our company is the wealth of experience and diverse background of our 200 + employees. The combined experience of our company employee base from two countries is in excess of 100 years with backgrounds of construction from six continents.
